Purified Water Systems

Our Purified Water Systems (PW Systems) are specifically designed to meet the high-purity, low-microbial-burden water requirements of pharmaceutical production. These systems typically utilize a combination of the following advanced technologies:

  • Efficient pretreatment: including multi-media filtration, activated carbon adsorption and softening, effectively removing suspended matter, chlorine and hardness in raw water, providing guarantee for subsequent deep purification.

  • Double-stage reverse osmosis (RO): Through two-stage RO membrane filtration, it effectively removes more than 99% of ions, organic matter and microorganisms, significantly reducing water conductivity and TOC content.

  • Continuous electrodeionization (EDI): As an ideal downstream technology for RO, EDI continuously removes residual ions in water through the action of an electric field. It does not require chemical regeneration, is easy to operate, and has low operating costs.

  • Disinfection and Storage: Equipped with ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer and ozone (O3) generator to effectively disinfect pure water; stainless steel pure water storage tank and circulation distribution loop design to minimize the risk of microbial growth.

We offer industry-leading Water for Injection (WFI) Systems that adhere to the highest pharmacopoeial requirements for WFI to be pyrogen-free. These systems are typically based on proven distillation technology:

  • Multi-effect distillation (MED): It uses the principle of multi-stage evaporation and condensation, uses the latent heat of steam for heat recovery, has high energy efficiency, and produces stable water quality, making it suitable for large-scale WFI production.
  • Vapor Compression Distillation (VCD): Through mechanical vapor recompression technology, the energy of secondary steam is recovered and reused, significantly reducing energy consumption, making it a more energy-saving and environmentally friendly WFI preparation solution.
  • Ultrafiltration (UF)/Reverse Osmosis (RO) Pretreatment: For some WFI production, RO/UF pretreatment may be used first to reduce the influent load, extend the life of the distillation equipment, and further reduce operating costs.
  • WFI storage and distribution system: Made of 316L stainless steel with polished interior, equipped with online monitoring instrumentation and thermal disinfection/ozone disinfection functions to ensure the purity and sterility of WFI during storage and distribution.
